Cosmetic Botox Therapy:

Botox Therapy for cosmetic purpose works wonderfully and is the most sought after cosmetic procedure for good reason. Botulinum toxin type A (Botox) works by blocking the release of a neutrotransmitter necessary for muscles to contract. The effects of botox last 3-6 months, with subsequent reactivation of the nerves and muscles. Botox has been available and used for therapeutic uses since 1980.

Botox treatment has consistently been the top cosmetic procedure, with >2.7M procedures in 2007. Botulinum toxin type A for cosmetic use was approved in the U.S. in 2002 under the name "Botox Cosmetic".

Possible adverse events are usually mild and resolve on their own within a few days, but may include headache, swelling, pain at the injection site, bleeding, and bruising. Diffuse weakness is possible.

Dr. Lopez has 10 years of experience with Botox and can offer injections for wrinkles in the forehead, frown or glabellar lines, arch lifts, neck wrinkles/bands, frown lines/oral commisure, gummy smile where gums show, perioral lines around the mouth, crow's feet, and the chin/Peau d'orange. Costs start at $259.00 which includes your initial medical consultation! See picture under the Botox tab.
